WINNERS FROM THE SC&RF OCTOBER SCHOLARSHIP ROUND ANNOUNCED

The SC&RF is pleased to announce two winners from the October scholarship round.

Clint Worthington, an employee of an SC&RA member company, will receive 50 percent tuition for the CICB Crane Operator course as part of the SC&RF's Partner In Education program. Additionally, he will receive a $1,600 financial assistance award toward the remaining 50 percent of tuition. Clint is a seasoned rigger and taking the next step to advance his career. "This course will do many things to change my career and even my life," he told the Committee. "I have been rigging now for about seven years under the hook of a crane. I'm ready to continue learning the trade."

Paul Schander, currently a Sideline Excavation employee, has been selected to receive a $2,500 award toward CDL driving school. "I am very interested in the truck driving portion of the industry. I would like to obtain my CDL to expand my career options. I can choose to drive long haul over the road transport, short 1-3 day trips, or choose a home every day kind of job," he explained in his application. He is also the recipient of the Crane Hot Line Continuing Education Scholarship.

In 2021, the Foundation has awarded $10,000 in vocational/technical financial assistance and nearly $25,000 in tuition through Partner In Education organizations. The next application deadline is December 31.
