Get Involved

Why Join a Committee?

Committees are made up of passionate volunteers who want to ensure the future of industry for the generations to come. It’s how programs grow, new ideas become new initiatives and how things get done.

SC&RA members and their spouses are encouraged to volunteer for any of the SC&RF committees to help shape the look and feel of SC&RF’s programs and policies.

How to Join a Committee

Be sure to share your desire to volunteer with staff. The first step to joining is to attend a committee meeting you’re interested in. Once there, introduce yourself to members, and be sure to familiarize yourself with the issues they're addressing. Staff can help point you in the right direction and answer any questions.

Establish a Scholarship or Partnership

Companies who believe in workforce development and impacting the labor gap one individual at a time are interested in ways their company can be more involved and often establish a “Named scholarship award”.

For more information on that program click here.

Some companies who have training courses and resources and want to give back to the industry – choose to donate courses and resources to the SC&RF. These are considered Partners in Education.

Establish a Legacy Endowment Fund

Individuals who are committed to the SC&RF’s initiatives and the industry, are invited to establish a Legacy Endowment Fund.

The Fund may be created in memory of a loved one or family name. Additionally, the Fund can be earmarked to benefit a specific program - workforce development, research or scholarships.
