The Association would like to congratulate Travis Hinkley, Brennan Hertzer, Sharma Shalini, and Adam Gaylean, who all received recent grants from the SC&R Foundation.
Travis Hinkley, of Fargo, ND, plans to use his grant to help complete his Associates of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Diesel Technology. Hinkley is currently an employee of General Equipment and Supplies, Inc., which works with Komatsu heavy equipment repair and sales. He hopes his degree will help him secure a better career in the crane and rigging industry.
Brennan Hertzer, from Forest City, IA, will be putting his grant towards a robotics program at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs. Following graduation, Hertzer hopes to use his certificate and AAS degree to pursue a career within the growing robotics sector of the manufacturing industry.
Sharma Shalini, of Los Angeles, CA, was a recipient of the NCCCO Continuing Education Grant. Shalini is currently finishing a degree from the HCA Academy in New Hampshire. A single mother of two, Shalini plans to complete a mobile crane operator course with NCCCO certification to help her find a job as a crane operator so she can support her daughters while they attend college.
Adam Galyean, the final grant winner for June, is receiving one of the Industrial Training International (ITI) Continuing Education Grant. A foreman with the Rigging Division at Ness & Campbell, Adam will be using the grant to earn a Fundamentals of Rigging Engineering Certification from ITI. Gaylean believes his certification will provide ongoing value to Ness & Campbell while better equipping him with knowledge of specialized and critical lifts.
Along with its current partners, NCCCO and ITI, the SC&R Foundation is pleased to announce it will also be partnering with Associated Training Services (ATS) to provide courses to grant applicants. Individuals interested in applying can find more information here, and are reminded that the next application deadline is October 31.
