(January 3, 2018)- If you have an employee looking to earn a 4-year degree or master’s degree, encourage them to apply for the SC&R Foundation Scholarship. SC&RA member company employees’ children, stepchildren or grandchildren are also eligible. In 2017, the Foundation awarded over $40,000 in scholarships and grants. Scholarship awards typically range between $2,000 and $3,000 and go to recipients who are pursuing a 4-year degree or masters, as well as a career in the crane, rigging and specialized transport industry. The Foundation expects to award at least seven Scholarships in 2018. There is only one scholarship deadline in 2018: January 16. In addition to the application, two recommendation letters and transcripts are required. The Grant program provides awards to individuals who are taking courses at a vocational/tech school or continuing education. There are five grant deadlines per year and applicants may also apply for courses/training offered by the Foundation’s Partners in Education (ATS, CICB, ITI, NCCCO). Assessing the Cost and Operational Impacts of State Practices for Minimum Quad Axle Weights Granted for Routine Over-Weight Permits
The Foundation felt that this study is of high importance to the SC&RA and members, so we could quantify what we already know: Redundant and unnecessary regulation causes unnecessary costs, adversely impacts SC&RA Members, their customers, and associates.
