2019 – 2023 Strategic Plan

The Foundation’s Strategic Plan Evolution

The SC&RF’s activities are guided by a strategic plan. The strategic plan identifies the core interests, key strategies and objectives, and when appropriate, directs the approach to evaluating the effectiveness of its work. The SC&RF generally undertakes a review and update of its strategic plan every four to six years. The last strategic plan was completed in 2024.

The SC&RF mission statement is:

The SC&R Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving the crane, rigging and specialized transport industry, supports workforce development, provides educational assistance and conducts research to advance growth and opportunities within the industry.

SC&RF (Specialized Carriers & Rigging Foundation) had a remarkable 2024, reaching key milestones in fundraising, workforce development, and industry outreach. Our annual fundraiser raised over $71,000, surpassing last year’s total, with even bigger goals set for 2025. We successfully launched a new website, featuring a Workforce Ambassadors portal and a career pathways section coming in early 2025.

In education, we expanded scholarships and training grants while advancing workforce research with a $50,000 study on key industry roles. We also increased industry awareness through major trade shows and a growing Workforce Ambassador Program, now with 48 participating companies.

Social media outreach grew with the launch of TikTok and Instagram, enhancing engagement. Looking ahead to 2025, SC&RF remains committed to expanding programs, fostering industry awareness, and supporting the next generation of crane and rigging professionals.

The 2025 – 2029 Strategic Plan outlines the following objectives:

  • SC&RF 2025-2029 Strategic Plan

SC&RF’s 2025-2029 Strategic Plan is designed to elevate industry awareness, strengthen workforce development, and expand career opportunities in the specialized carriers and rigging sector. This plan is built around four key strategic directions that will drive meaningful change:

    1. Strengthening Operations & Fundraising

SC&RF will enhance its financial sustainability by diversifying revenue streams, securing external funding, and optimizing operational resources. Regular strategic reviews and structured planning will ensure long-term stability and growth.

    2. Expanding Workforce Development & Industry Research

A strong focus will be placed on industry awareness initiatives and outreach, career pathways, and industry research. SC&RF will develop new training programs, fund studies on key industry roles, and create partnerships with schools and technical programs to address the growing demand for skilled professionals.

    3. Increasing Industry Engagement & Value

To better serve the industry, SC&RF will foster deeper connections with businesses and professionals. This includes expanding social media outreach, growing participation in workforce initiatives, and delivering valuable resources to support talent development.

    4. Enhancing Brand Recognition & Industry Identity

SC&RF will refine its branding and messaging to boost visibility and credibility. A stronger marketing approach will reinforce its mission, ensuring industry professionals and the next generation of workers recognize the foundation as a leader in workforce advancement.

By executing this strategic plan, SC&RF aims to establish a strong pipeline for the industry, provide essential industry research, and create impactful programs that shape the future of specialized carriers and rigging.
