Nicholas Jarm<\/h2>\n

First-time SC&R Foundation grant recipient of $1,000 \u2013 and hopes to pursue a career in operations and\/or mechanics in the specialized transportation industry. He will use his award towards coursework in Power Equipment and Hydraulic Power & Motion Control at the Agricultural Technical Institute of Ohio State University. He is the recipient of the Anderson Trucking Service Continuing Education Grant.<\/p>\n

\n

He plans to pursue his NCCCO Mobile Crane Operator Certification as part of the Partners in Education Program. This is his first grant award from the SC&R Foundation, and he is thrilled to use the support towards securing employment as a certified crane operator in Colorado in the near future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

He plans to jumpstart a career in construction industry crane operation after completing the CICB Mobile Crane Operator Certification program at CICB in Houston, Texas. O\u2019Hara received a CICB grant of 50 percent tuition to take the course.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Terrence Herd<\/h2>\n
\n
\n

Herd was awarded $1,000 in addition to a CICB Partners in Education grant for 50% tuition for the Crane Operator Course. He is currently a rigger and has been working towards becoming a crane operator for some time. Herd is grateful for the chance to take the next step towards that goal.<\/p>\n

\n

Mickey Howell<\/h2>\n

He will pursue his NCCCO Crane Operator\/Rigger certification through West Coast Training in Washington with his $2,000 award. He hails from Apopka, Florida, and has chosen this particular course for the multiple types of certifications he will earn while becoming a certified crane operator. This is his Howell Jr.\u2019s first SC&R Foundation grant award. He is the recipient of the Heartland Communications\/ Crane Hotline Continuing Education Grant.<\/p>\n

Victor Rodriguez<\/p><\/div>\n

Victor Rodriguez<\/h2>\n

\n

Houston, Texas, plans to complete the Class A Commercial Driving course through Associated Training Services, one of the Foundation\u2019s Partners in Education. He is eager to begin a career in the heavy haul and rigging industry, and hopes that his commercial operator\u2019s license will allow him to be a highly valued and versatile employee. He is the recipient of a Lucille Mae Klabacka Continuing Education Grant.<\/p>\n

Steve Grennell<\/h2>\n

\n

Grennell, PSC& Crane & Rigging, was awarded 100% tuition in the ITI Rigging Gear Inspection course through the Foundation\u2019s Partner in Education Program. He hopes to be a more valuable team member with this certification and \u201cassist with not only yearly rigging inspections, but also on a day to day basis. \u00a0We take steps to ensure our rigging is not being misused or abused. No matter how many steps we take to protect the rigging, that does not mean that rigging is going to stay in perfect condition, and that\u2019s where I can help the company and anyone else with inspecting the rigging.\u201d He shows a commendable commitment to job site safety and the welfare of fellow workers.<\/p>\n

Steve Hufford<\/h2>\n

\n

Hufford, PSC Crane & Rigging, is the recipient of 100% tuition for the Rigging Gear Inspector course with ITI. This is granted through the Foundation\u2019s Partner in Education program. Hufford told the committee, \u201cThis safety inspection certificate will put me ahead of the game and make me more knowledgeable about the equipment that many of our workers use on a daily basis. Also, by being an inspector of the equipment I can educate others using the equipment on the importance of making sure the equipment is safe and ready for use. This course is not just beneficial to me but also to the company I work for and the crew I\u2019m a part of that day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrew Cassidy<\/h2>\n

\n

Cassidy, PSC Crane & Rigging, will received 100% tuition for the ITI Rigging Gear Inspector Course through the Foundation\u2019s Partner In Education program. Cassidy plans to improve the safety of each job site he works on with this training. He believes that it is imperative to have ongoing training when working in the crane industry and holds himself personally responsible for the safety of equipment he is using on a job site as a certified crane operator.<\/p>\n

Jojo Baffee<\/h2>\n

\n

(Top) Baffaoe will receive full tuition for the ITI Rigging Fundamentals Course offered through the Foundation\u2019s Partner in Education Program with Industrial Training International. Baffoe lives in Ghana and is particularily\u00a0interested in this ASME approved course because of the various health and safety related incidents that happens in his region due to the lack of competent and qualified personnel. He seeks to establish a stronger safety culture for persons who work in this industry in his country.<\/p>\n

(Bottom) Adedokun has been awarded 50% tuition toward the CICB Crane Operator Program and an additional $1,000 toward the remaining balance.
